Board of intermediate and Secondary Education, Multan was established under the West Pakistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (Multan and Sargodha) Ordinance, 1968 (now canceled) out of Lahore Board. It is now being administered under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976. This board does not get any funds or donations from the govt. it works by using the amounts of fee and examination charges received by the students. Only that amount is used to establish all the exams and result maintenance for the students.
A planned strategy is followed to conduct the exams of students of matric (9th, 10th) and intermediate (1st year, 2nd year). This includes admission application submission, syllabus issuance, issuance of date sheet, issuance of roll no slips, conducting exams, compiling results with full transparency. The procedure starts in the month of November with admissions of students and is extended to March where the exams are conducted for matric. In the end, the result is issued after a few months. Supplementary exams are also the responsibility of the Multan Board for the students of its district and vicinity.
