BISE Bahawalpur board was founded in 1977 and was separated from Multan Board. Before its establishment, all the students of Bahawalpur applied for matric and intermediate admissions from Multan Board. After increasing the admission applications from the board it was felt seriously to develop a separate secondary and higher secondary education board.

After separation its building was shifted to alternate places many times. The recent location of head office of Bahawalpur Board is its final building with waste occupancy space having multiple departments for admission tasks.
BISE Bahawalpur 10th class exams are in March. Practical exams are also part of the 10th class exams. Every year nearly one lac student takes admission in 10th class exams from Bahawalpur City. These admissions, roll no slips, examinations and results are managed by the board with full responsibility.
Admission is registered in November for all exams of 10th class. Either these are supplementary or annual exams. Both kinds of exams are the responsibility of the board. Theoretical exams are followed by the practical exams.
