University of Health Sciences (UHS) had announced last month that all exams including MBBS, BDS and M. Phil shall be conducted from 13th May, however, they were postponed till the month of June, 2020. A stringent set of SOPs were sent to all the students and examination staff including the wearing of masks and gloves. UHS were also supposed to arrange temperature screening and sanitizers during the examination. Social distancing was to be strictly practiced as guidelines including that examination staff and students will work in a manner that there is at least 2-metre of a distance.
Government of Punjab has directed UHS to stop holding of all examinations including MBBS and BDS which were scheduled in the second week of June, 2020. Additional Secretary Dr. Salman Shahid has said that UHS had announced the schedule of examinations without getting any prior approval and therefore, immediate compliance is required as effected numbers due to deadly virus are on a spike high. In addition to that, the matter of additional fees charged by the medical and dental colleges for supplementary exams will be decided by the authorities shortly.
