Islamabad: Comprising of renowned and prominent academics, experts, writers, analysts and representatives of civil society and youth organizations, a think tank on higer education in the country has been established in Islamabad.
According a news release, the fundamental purpose of this think tank is pondering upon many challenges which are there in the way of higher education in Pakistan and work as an independent think tank in Pakistan.
Lobbying with stakeholders, particularly with parliamentarians and political parties in order to grab their attention on higher education issues is also included in the aims of the think tank.
The group will observe the selection procedure of vital appointments in higher education sector including chairpersons of federal and provincial higher education commissions and vice-chancellors in order to guarantee merit and clarity.
Preparing reviews and assessment reports on numerous higher academic advances and problems and financial distributions will also be included in the objectives of the think tank.
This step has been said a milestone by Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) President Dr Kaleemullah Barech as this think tank will play an important role in the progress and promotion of higher education in the country.
