The budget of Punjab University is affected due to the increase in petrol price

Due to increase in the prices of petroleum products, the budget of Punjab University has been affected.
An additional expenditure of 1.2 million in the fuel budget provided to the route buses is included in the university budget. 55 buses of the university are providing transport facility to thousands of students, teachers and employees daily.
85 lakhs were being spent on petrol/diesel for 55 buses per month. The monthly expenditure has increased from 85 lakhs to 95 lakhs. According to Tarman University, the university has not increased the rent for the last 5 years, the university administration says. That the additional burden on the budget will be borne by the university itself.
