Supreme Court forbids admissions in private medical colleges

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has prohibited admissions in private medical colleges across the country.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar called for the fee structure of all the private medical colleges of the country and forbade admission in private medical colleges until the next order. He also called for the bank account details of the owners of private medical colleges of the country.

He monitored the recent criticism after his visit to Mayo Hospital and said that he will visit the hospitals whenever needed.

The Chief Justice further said that private medical colleges are being run without any clarity and court should be informed about the fee structure of the colleges.

"Although we are producing doctors, we don’t know whether our tool is correct or not," the Chief Justice remarked.
