The education department of Sindh has recommended an extension in summer vacation of schools colleges and universities due to upcoming general elections. The department has sought an extension till 27^th of July, 2018.

The department has maintained that the teachers would be holding the election duties hence it would not be possible to attend regular classes in educational Institutions.

The recommendation of this extension will be sent to the federal government for an approval.

The summer vacation in Sindh province was from May 14^th to July 16^th and an earlier announcement of vacation was seen this year.

This earlier announcement of summer vacation for government and private institutions was made due to extreme heat and the month of Holy Ramadan.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the general election on July 25^th, 2018.
