Islamabad: President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has appointed Dr Mohammad Ali as the Vice Chancellor of Quaid e Azam University and Dr. Zia ul Qayum as the Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University. The new VCs are set to take office on Monday 29^th October 2018. PrevioulsyDr. Mohammad Ali was the VC of the GCU Faisalabad whereas Dr Zia ul Qayum was VC of University of Gujrat.

Dr. Ali is a recipient of Tamgha i Imtiaz , he had completed his PhD in biological sciences from University of Wales, UK whereas Dr. Qayum had completed his PhD in machine learning at University of Leeds, UK
