Professor Ayub Sultan Meo was appointed as vice-chancellor (VC) of King Edward Medical University (KEMU) for a four-year term by Punjab government.
The Chief Minister of Punjab approved his appointment from amongst the three medics searched by a committee.
The newly selected VC has been appointed on a trial of four months. Other two candidates for the VC seat, Prof Asad and Prof Farid also have great experience in their fields.
The newly selected VC, Professor Meo did his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from Quaid-i-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur. He has a domicile of Sindh, has been a teacher of basic sciences and never did a house job at any of the public hospitals of Punjab.
