PMDC issues notice to close seven private medical colleges

Pakistan Medical and Dental Association (PMDC) has issued an order via a notice to shut down the campuses of seven medical colleges. Five of these colleges are in Lahore while other two are located in Karachi.

The ban has been issued after violation of PMDC rules and regulation by the colleges. According to the rules of PMDC, a dental college should have hospital of 15 beds while a medical college must have a hospital of 200 beds. The colleges did not follow the rules and since have been served with a shutdown notice.

Earlier, PMDC had decided to inspect the schools to assess their quality and rules obedience. This year, the admission will be given on merit, PMDC has issued the decision.
