PMDC bans admissions in medical degrees against the admission policy

Pakistan Medical and Dental Association on Tuesday reverted its decision of allowing the medical institutions to increase annual fee.

The PMDC has ordered all the private medical and dental colleges to charge the annual fee of 642,000 PKR as the admission policy 2016 declared, the official statement said.

The statement further said, “On repeated requests for raising fees of private medical and dental colleges to Rs 1.3 million, PMDC council had sent recommendation to the Ministry of Health for increasing the fee to Rs 0.8 million in private medical and dental colleges. However, the council has now decided to cancel the recommendation of fee hike. As per admission policy 2016, the fee of medical dental college shall be 642,000 only.”

For the vast betterment and facilitation of students, parents, universities and institutions, the PMDC asserted that admissions in MBBS and BDS in both public and private institutions of Pakistan and abroad shall be under Admission Regulations 2016, vide SRO 1003 (1) 2016, dated October 27, 2016 (admissions, house job and internship regulations 2016). It is available on PMDC official website.

The council in a recent meeting has decided that no college shall be allowed to violate the rules and regulations and any disobedience of the laws set by PMDC shall not be tolerated.

The PMDC president has expressed serious concern on admitting the students prior to the timeframe imposed by PMDC, in medical and dental colleges.
