LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) on Tuesday launched the first-ever indigenous post-doctoral fellowships programme for PhD faculty members of universities and colleges across Punjab.
During the 11th meeting of the PHEC Commission, PHEC Chairperson Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin announced and said that this fellowship programme planned to enhance learning and promote research culture for faculty members of public sector in Punjab. He also said that the PHEC had always promoted learning and career advancement opportunities for teachers.
“Through this innovative initiative, our scholars will be trained locally to hone their research skills at universities and research institutes of Punjab. This programme has been introduced especially for faculty members, particularly women, who are unable to avail such openings abroad,” Dr Nizamuddin said.
The duration of the Indigenous fellowship programme will be nine months and all PhD faculty members of public sector universities and colleges and who do not have availed a post-doc fellowship in the last five years, will be eligible to apply for the programme.
