A protest against the unjust increase in the fee was held in front of vice chancellor office in Peshawar University. The protest turned violent when students were charged with section 144 escalating violence resulting in arrest of 28 university students. During the protest 7 students and 2 policemen were injured.
United Students alliance of all political parties and regional students’ organization has claimed that 400 percent fee has increased in a decade. The students have to pay separate fee for examination and hostel accommodation other than the regular university fee.
Asfand Yar Khan Leader of the students told media that a peaceful protest was held by the student’s in front of vice chancellor’s office which turned violent because section 144 was imposed on them.
