Government of Punjab hasn’t approved the request of educational authorities for checking of matric papers. Although, all arrangements have been made by the boards and other stakeholders, however, permission / approval from Provincial Education Ministry isn’t granted yet. The policy statement unanimously agreed by federal, provincial and educational authorities were to promote the students without conducting any exam but papers of 10th class were already completed, hence, they were to be marked accordingly.
Based on the marks of those papers, the practical papers will also be marked accordingly as per the latest agreement of provincial and educational authorities. As far as arrangements for paper checking are concerned, 300,000 papers are to be checked only in Lahore Division. Centers and teachers for paper checking are also finalized as there will be 27 different centers in Lahore Division. SOPs of social distancing will be strictly followed and paper checkers will be provided face masks, sanitizers and gloves. Education Department said that they have requested Chief Secretary of Punjab to grant them the permission, as soon as the request results in a positive answer, paper checking will be started immediately.
