Pakistani university ranked among top 250 in the world to study medicine

Aga Khan University is the only Pakistani medical university among top universities to study medicine. It has been successful in attaining the first position in the country to study medicine.

Quacquarelli Symonds Limited, commonly known as QS World University Rankings is a prestigious ranking system which evaluates the universities on the basis of teachings in specific subjects.

The Aga Khan University (AKU) has succeeded to obtain the 400-451 band in the Life Sciences and Medicine section. The university was placed in the 201-250 band for specific study of medicine among other universities. As compared to the last year’s results, the university has improved and placed in the 251-300 band for studies of medicine and surpassed all the universities of Pakistan, this year.

Founded in 1983 by Prince Aga Khan IV, the university operates through the Aha Khan Development Network. HEC has ranked AKU as the best university in the country in the field of medicine. The hospital which is affiliated to the university is among the best hospital in the country. Aga Khan University has attained this position by scoring 51.4% for its academic reputation, 39% for employer reputation, 65.3% for H-index citations and 84.6% for citations per paper.

In the ranking, Harvard University has succeeded in making to the top both in life sciences and medicine. On the other hand, University of Cambridge and Oxford University has shared the second position.
