Pakistani Student Stabbed to Death in China

A Pakistani student enrolled in Chinese university was stabbed to death over a roadside dispute with a local resident.

The killed student, recognized as Moizuddin, was enrolled in a Chinese language program at Nanjing Normal University. He had been studying on a Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship since 2017 in the said programme.

The incident, caught on a CCTV footage shows a dispute on unknown reasons between a local and the Pakistani student.

The police reached the murder scene and shifted the student to the hospital but the victim could not survive.

The murderer, identified as 28-year-old Cong, has been arrested by the police. The investigation is in the process to know the reason for the clash.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing paid its condolences to the victim’s family. The officials are coordinating with the Chinese authorities to send the body back to the family in Pakistan.

“We would like to inform all Pakistanis that the embassy and the Consulate General in Shanghai are in active coordination with the Chinese authorities, who are conducting an investigation into the incident”, according to a statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan.

The university and its students also paid their condolences and support to the victim’s family.
