The Sindh Education Department has decided to conduct Matriculation examinations in the province from May 17 and Intermediate from June 15 and also approved a new academic calendar.

 

According to Express News, a meeting of the steering committee of the education department was held under the chairmanship of Sindh education minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah in which it was decided that the ninth and tenth board examinations would be held from May 17 and the results would be announced on July 17. The board chairman assured the education minister that the results of the students would be given in two months.

 

The meeting also decided that the first year and second year examinations would be held from June 15 and the fourth and eighth examinations in the province would be held from May 2.

 

The academic calendar was approved in the meeting of the steering committee of the education department. The summer vacation in all the educational institutions will be from June 1 to July 31 while admissions in higher schools will also take place during the same period. Classes for the new school year will begin on August 1.

 

The winter holidays will be from December 22 to December 31. The meeting discussed the agenda for the beginning of the new academic year 2022-23, the schedule for admissions in the ninth, eleventh and twelfth years of the new year, the schedule of examinations, sports and extra-curricular activities as well as vacations.
