Higher education institutions suspend till 31st of May

In pursuance of compatibility with the guidelines by the Punjab government in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have suspended their scholarly tasks and have been shut down until 31st May 2020.

 

A meeting with many committees was held by PHEC, on Tuesday to discuss alternate teaching methods such as online teaching, LMS solutions, and article writing by professors during the hard times caused by the Corona Virus. They also touched on, the universities’ capabilities of uploading lectures to the web and running entire learning management systems (LMS).

 

PHEC also planned to fundamentally help all the major and notable colleges and universities in the creation of online courses, smart classrooms, and IT offices. The panel committee formed by PHEC includes members such as UET Lahore Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, KEMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Information Technology University, Lahore, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, University of Education, Lahore, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, Virtual University of Pakistan, Lahore, Rector Dr. Naeem Tariq, Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore Principal Prof Dr. Rukhsana David went to the gathering.

 

Administrator PHEC, Prof Fazal Ahmad Khalid, invited the individuals who valued the efforts made by PHEC for coordination to work with all colleges and to engage students in web-based learning and teaching process.
