The Higher Education Department (HED) has urged the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) recommend and submit the names of panelists who will direct the interviews of Vice-Chancellor (VCs) for the nine varsities of Punjab province.

These nine universities of Punjab province are included University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila, Government College University(GCU) Faisalabad, University of Gujrat (UOG), Government College for Women University(GCWU) Faisalabad, Government College for Women University(GCWU) Sialkot, University of Narowal, and University of Murree.   

The existing Vice-Chancellors of these universities have near to retire, while the officials demand to deploy the new Vice chancellors with no wastage of time.
