The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has directed the institutions of higher education to participate in plantation campaign and contribute to the dam funds, established by the Chief Justice, due to the on-going water crisis and poor environmental deprivation.

The HEC has encouraged the universities of public as well as private sectors to participate in Tree Plantation Campaign and plant trees in their campuses.

The universities have also been directed to protect the environment and help raise funds for the dam construction in the country.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken an initiative to collect money to build dams in the country and requested the masses to donate the money for the dams.
