Higher Education Commission (HEC) will send about 2,000 doctoral students to the best universities of world in next five years on a fully funded scholarship.
For this phase III of Overseas Scholarship Programme, Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved an amount of Rs20.904 billion.
Phase III of this scholarship programme aims at training of 2,000 doctoral level students across the country on strict merit base, according to an official of HEC.
This scholarship programme will also be awarded to around 200 MS/ MPhil students in different disciplines of engineering Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Chemicals and Textile etc in order to meet faculty requirements in already established and newly establishing institutions.
Around 400 doctoral candidates will be sent every year to the countries which are most advance in technology and have technologically advance universities, the official added.
These universities have no/nominal/special tuition fee rates through those relevant foreign countries/agencies/universities that have signed or planning to sign MoU/DoU with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
