HEC closes 154 Fake Degree Awarding Institutions in Last 15 Years

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has shut down 154 fake degree awarding institutions since its establishment in 2002.

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood gave a written reply to the question of Senator Nauman Wazir that Higher Education Commission has closed down 102 fake degrees awarding institution in Punjab province, 36 in Sindh province, 11 in KPK province, 2 in Federal Capital, and 3 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, Shafqat Mahmood said that HEC has closed 154 institutions in last 15 years. Further, he addressed that Higher Education Commission is working in a close cooperation with all the provisional governments to check the illegal degree awarding institutions.   

Moreover, HEC is strongly working to reduce the illegal nourishment of fake degree awarding institutes in all over Pakistan.
