Islamabad: On Thursday 25th October 2018, Higher Education Commission and National Counter Terrorism Authority signed a memorandum of understanding to combat the issue of terrorism and extremism. In this regard joint research programs will establish to work on the areas of counter terrorism and counter extremism.
The joint program aims at developing a culture of research in students which will also help government in formulating policies on the issue. During the event the MoU was signed by Khaliq Dad Lak, National Coordinator of NACTA and Lt. General (Rtd. ) Muhammad Asghar, Executive Director of HEC.
HEC will be provided with themes, topics and sub topics by NACTA. These topics will then be sent to universities by HEC for the students to work on the concern area. The concern departments will also mutually initiate awareness activities for the students to spread education on the topics of counter terrorism and counter extremism. The FM channels of universities will also participate in this program.
