Harassment Inquiry to be monitored directly by Chief Minister of Punjab

CM Punjab, Usman Buzdar has formed a committee to monitor harassment cases within the schools across the province of Punjab. There has been an increasing trend of child abuse cases being reported not only in government but private schools as well. Educational Minister of Punjab has also agreed that harassment cases have seen a rise in recent past.

A committee has been formed under the leadership of CM and Educational Minister will also monitor the performance closely. The sole purpose of committee will be to inquire the current and future cases. Moreover, an act will also be brought on the table of legislative assembly. Office of CM also encouraged parents and students to write complaints of harassment so that the cases might be brought up.

Nevertheless, there is a need to pass an act which shall be made part of the legal criminal law so such culprits can be punished. Harassment cases are a point of serious concern for parents as they have their children studying in various schools. As per recent orders of federal government, institutes might be opened anytime soon, hence, all stakeholders need to take this issue seriously.
