Government to set up Radio Education Program

In response to the global crisis, Ministry of Education set up a TeleSchool project with the partnership of Pakistan Television Network (PTV) for continuing the educational learning for the students. However, the access to the TV is still restricted in some rural areas, hence, the ministry is now considering to set up a similar platform through Radio. The partnership is to done with Radio Pakistan with setting up a frequency of such channel which is accessible and available in far flung areas as well. Moreover, the TeleSchool project is being strengthened with adding a feedback mechanism of the same.

Currently, the government is aimed towards secondary and higher secondary education only. Although, the minister has stated that ministry is looking to incorporate the impartment of higher education into the same projects. In a recent interview to one of the private channels, he said that we are committed to respond during the problematic time of COVID – 19. The recent decision of exams cancellation and closure of institutes was also taken in response to the pandemic. Lastly, Federal Ministry of Education is in consultation with all Provincial Education Ministers for 9th and 11th students’ supplementary exams.
