According to a report by Radio Pakistan, the government of Pakistan has granted scholarships to 300 Sri Lankan students under Jinnah Scholarship Scheme.

The formal ceremony to award these scholarships to the Sri Lankan students was held in Sri Lankan city of Kandy.

The Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan, Janbaz Khan attended the ceremony and applauded the students. He asserted that Pakistan is determined to enhance the Sri Lankan students’ prospect for better educational opportunities and a brighter future.

The government had launched Jinnah Scholarship Scheme in 2006 and since has benefitted around 1800 Sri Lankan students.
