According to CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, the security arrangements of Lahore Police are complete, fool-proof security is being provided to pilgrims and devotees from all over the country, more than 3 thousand police officers and youths are performing security duties. There are 4 SPs, 7 DSPs, 46 SHOs, 261 Upper Subordinates, 93 Ladies Police personnel.
 
 Visitors are being allowed to enter the shrine only after a thorough search through a three-level checking mechanism, using walk-through gates, metal detectors and electric barriers for checking. Snipers stationed at Mazar Hazrat Data Sahib and high-rise buildings are keeping a close eye on the surrounding traffic, suspicious persons, abandoned goods, motorcycles and vehicles are also being kept a close eye.
 
On the other hand, a public holiday has been declared on September 17 in Lahore on the occasion of the 979th Urs of Hazrat Data Ali Hajwayri. Educational and government institutions will remain closed, the Welfare Department issued a notification with the approval of the Additional Chief Secretary.
