The news became to be breaking news when the sexual abuse by one of the senior faculty member of Gomal University was caught red-handed by a famous anchor, Syed Iqrar-ul-Hasan. A sting operation conducted by the team of Sar-e-Aam (TV Show) found that the Professor has been involved in sexually abusing many of his female students. The Professor was a BPS-21 grade teacher and was employed at Department of Islamic Studies and Arabic.

The case is not as of now, matter was reported and highlighted to university in the month of February along with the video evidence including his disgraceful acts. At start, Professor confronted and didn’t acknowledged the fact that he has been caught red-handed. Later on, when the matter was highlighted on media and became a serious issue as there was video evidence too, Professor resigned from his position on voluntary basis. But the VC of Gomal University wanted to still conduct legal proceedings against him in order to make him an example. The proceedings were continued against Professor as per KP Universities Act of 2012.

However, the legal proceedings continue to be delayed as courts are operating slowly in comparison to normal routine as the spread of corona has taken a rise. As per the recent notification issued by Gomal University, they have terminated Professor from immediate effect and has also released notification. It has also been publicized and shared with all concerned authorities. Notification was issued by Office of Registrar and shared with provincial government, education ministry, police department and the entire academic council of the university.
