Books provided free of cost in government schools started selling at bus stops. The performance of education departments in Lahore was called into question.
According to the report, official books started being sold at Zahoor Book Mart Manawala stop. A set of three books is being sold at Rs. 140 to 160 on Zahoor Book Mart.
The said books are given free to the children of government schools. The parents have expressed concern over the sale of "Not For Sale" books and demanded that the Punjab Chief Minister take notice of the matter.
On the other hand, the Punjab Textbook Board has said that the sale of government books is not allowed at all. Free books are owned by the government. Second hand cannot be sold.
The shopkeeper says that government books are being sold in the market due to shortage of books.
