Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s wife Samina Abbasi on Sunday said that scholarships will be granted to disabled students soon.
Addressing the event held at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in connection with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the First Lady said that the scholarships will be granted to the special students wishing to get higher education.
The event was arranged by Directorate of Special Education in association with the World Health Organization (WHO).
“An ambulance service will also be started for special educational institutions,” the First Lady added.
Time scale promotions will be granted to the employees of the Special Education Department, Miss Abbasi said while talking about the difficulties of special persons.
Marriyum Aurangzeb the Minister of State for Information was also present at the event and said that a new bulletin would be introduced by PTV for special persons.
All schools for special persons would get five busses under Prime Minister’s Education Reform Programme, said Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
The rehabilitation of special persons can be made possible by the involvement of all the fragments of the society, said Special Education Director General Ishrat Masood.
