ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Thursday issued the second annual results of classes ninth and 10th.
According to the FBISE, the passing parentage of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-I remained 73.6pc while that of SSC-II remained 61.7pc.
The board said that 50,893 students were enrolled for SSC-I and out of them 36,590 were declared pass whereas the passing percentage remained at 73.63pc. Similarly, the board said that 14,537 students were enrolled for SSC-II and 8,557 were declared pass creating the passing percentage of 61.7pc.
Speaking to Dawn, chairman of the board Qaisar Alam said that in the past, the FBISE used to conduct only one full-fledge exam in the academic year, however, for the last two years or so, the board had been conducting two annual exams to provide maximum chances to students.
When asked about low percentage as compared to the first annual exam, he said that in this exam mostly, repeaters and relatively weak students appear which resulted into low percentage. It is relevant to note here that in the first annual exam, the overall pass percentage was recorded at 86.5pc.
