Two high officers of Ministry of Education and Professional Training were tested positive for corona virus yesterday. In a response to that, Education Ministry issued a circular for all its employees and general public stating the closing of ministry till 5^th June, 2020. The disinfectant sprays and facilities shall be availed with the help of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

However, the official operations of ministry shall be carried out through e-offices which will be done through online platforms and telephone services. Staff is advised to make themselves available as and when required for meetings and other official purposes. Ministry has been one of the most active machines since last three months during the pandemic as Shafqat Mahmood has been briefing the media from time to time. Senior officials are of the view that numerous meetings were conducted regarding the exams policy, online teaching and launching of televised education program, which might had been the major cause of infecting few of the officials. Currently, ministry is actively engaged in setting up a distant education program via radio.
