Alleged corruption of crores of rupees was revealed in the non-salary budget of 48,000 schools across Punjab. The Auditor General of Pakistan has started annual audit of schools. From 2017 to 2021, non-salary budget of schools will be audited.
Strict action will be taken against school heads who misappropriate budgets. School heads will have to provide details of the budget for the last four years to the Auditor General of Pakistan.
According to the Education Authority Lahore, the school heads will provide the budget record to the team of the Auditor General during the visit.
