A meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) chaired by PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi decided to form a National Task Force on Education Standards in order to improve the education in the country.

The main object of establishing the Task Force is to observe the issue of curriculum, medium of instruction and other issues related to education. The force will look for improving quality of education and bringing uniformity in the field.

The Task Force is the need of the time as the quality of education in Pakistan is declining rapidly and the uniformity has vanished after the establishment of many forms of syllabuses and education systems.

The meeting also discussed the issues related to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
