Karachi:Sindh Inter University Consortium SIUC approved Rs500m budget for the Universities of Sindh in the fourth meeting held at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law. The meeting was headed Qazi Khalid the Vice Chancellor of SZABUL. The meeting was attended by Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology Vice chancellor Prof. Dr Afzal Hay, Jinnah Sindh , NED University of Engineering and Technology Pro-VC Prof Dr Tufail, Medical University VC Prof Dr Tariq Rafi, Ziauddin University VC Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, whereas the IBA University Sukkur Vice Chancellor Dr. Nisar Ahmed participated in the meeting through a video link.

The Sindh Inter University Consortium was established to promote higher education and develop the culture of research and training local students in collaboration with international Universities. It was established in 2017 under Sindh Higher Education Commission Act of 2010.

The Registrar of SZABUL Syed Sharaf Ali Shah presented the report of the visit of the team of University headed by him to the University of Northampton. The team went to further the agreement of collaboration set up earlier. The University of Northampton will give the approval of agreement in a meeting that is to be held on 15^th November. The University of Northampton has also asked to directly involve with SIUC and Sindh Higher Education Commission to sign agreements with individual universities. The proposal is to be presented to the federal cabinet for approval
