Balochistan Board promotes matriculation and intermediate students

All the exams were initially postponed and later on, cancelled owing to the increasing trend of covid-19 in recent months. Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training announced a new promotion policy in which marks will be awarded based on previous year’s results. Whereas, students of 9th and 11th class shall be awarded marks based on next year’s results of 10th and 12th but for the current year, they shall also be promoted without any exams. A final decision was taken by the educational stakeholders as agreed by the inter provincial educational ministers conference (IPEMC) in the month of May.

Balochistan’s only educational board based in Quetta has announced that final results will be made soon, however, the key decisions have been reached unanimously by the board. These decisions include the agreement of all regarding the promotion of students into next classes as per the guidelines of new promotion policy released by the government. 10th and 12th class results will be promoted based on their results in 9th and 11th classes with an additional 3% marks in the total. Moreover, 9th and 11th class students will be promoted into next classes without any exam and their marks will be calculated based on next year’s annual board exams. Lastly, a composite exam will also be conducted at the end of year, in which students who aren’t satisfied with their marks or get less than 40% or 33% marks will have the facility to reappear.
