Rawalpindi: On Monday 19th November 19, 2018 National Institute of Health organized awareness seminar on Antimicrobial Resistance in coloration with World Health Organization and Rawalpindi Medical University at Holy Family Hospital.
The seminar was organized to commemorate the World Antibiotic Awareness Week on the theme of “Change Can’t wait. Our time with antibiotics is running out, it combined with a walk for awareness. The motive of this seminar spread awareness to general public and health workers about the rational and minimal use of antibiotics. Young doctors, paramedics, physicians, students and the faculty of Rawalpindi University attended the seminar.
Moreover the seminar included presentations by the professionals on the current issues regarding the use of antibiotic medicine. Dr Afrinish Amir, the Laboratory Coordinator at National Institute of Health and Dr. Nasim Akhtar from PIMS gave the presentations on the issues.
Furthermore the Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Medical University Dr. Muhammad Umar addressed the seminar and stressed over the need of finding permanent solution of the problem.
