The decision of opening up of schools is not yet decided but a tentative date of reopening is 15th September, 2020. All the educational institutes are also advised to set up their institutes on the guidelines of government with compliance to covid-19 SOPs. Sindh’s Education Minister, Saeed Ghani has indicated that a strict action shall be taken against all those schools who will open up prior to 15th September, 2020. The decision regarding reopening of schools is still not final but there are high chances that 15th September can be the date when students will enter their schools after 5 months. It was observed in the month of August that some of the schools had called their students and in response to that, Sindh’s Education Minister has categorically said of even cancelling the license of all such institutes.
Education Ministry of Sindh has issued a notification to all respective Deputy Commissioners across Sindh for inspecting that whether any school is functioning in contrary to the government approval. Moreover, any such institute will be declared as null and their license shall be cancelled with immediate effect. Saeed Ghani, Sindh’s education minister said that his ministry will work on the guidelines and approval of Federal Ministry of Education. The safety of students and staff is key priority, even if the schools had to close down till the end of year. Closing of institutes was a tough decision but time proved that it was the right decision at that very moment as said by Education Minister.
In response to the readiness of Sindh, Saeed Ghani said that as soon as Federal Government gives approval, they will be ready for opening the schools from very next day. The school owners are already advised for strictly complying to the SOPs of corona virus and an inspection team will ensure that all institutes are adhering to it.
