Educational Minister, Shafqat Mahmood called upon a meeting of all provincial educational ministers and agreed on opening up of all schools in the month of September, 2020. The situation has got worsened with covid-19 cases increasing but ministry of education has ensured that schools will opened under strict guidelines and following of SOPs. All provincial educational ministers were included in the meeting and developed a mutual consensus on the decision.
Opening up of schools will be done by ensuring all precautionary measures and government will be auditing all schools for examining the following of SOPs. However, the examination will also be conducted in a phase wise model. Another inter-provincial educational conference will be scheduled in the first week of September which will lay down the structure of re-opening schools. However, the recommendations will be forwarded to National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) and they will be responsible to give the approval of opening the schools. One of the concerns presented on board by Education Minister of Sindh was that private schools are under severe financial crunch, therefore, thety shall be facilitated with interest free loans.
