Lahore, School Education Department (SED) and Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) announce the closing of all private and government educational institutes on Wednesday. It is said in the notification that due to Covid-19 pandemic situation all the schools, colleges and universities closed from today.
Murad Raas Punjab Minister for School Education tweeted the notification, “All Public & Private Schools, Academies, Tuition Centers & Madrasas to be closed starting tomorrow 26th November 2020. No exceptions.”

According to HED notification, “In pursuance of the directions of National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), on campus teaching in all public universities and colleges in Punjab including degree awarding institutes and autonomous colleges, shall remain suspended from Nov 26 to Dec 24 in the wake of pandemic (Covid-19).”
SED notification, “All Public & Private Schools, Academies, Tuition Centers, taken over Madaaris and all Autonomous Educational Institutions to be closed starting Tomorrow, 26-11-2020 to 24-12-2020 in the wake of pandemic (COVID-19).”

He appealed to the PM Imran Khan, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief of Army Staff, chief ministers and governors to open the school under the Standard Operating Procedure SOPs. It is suggested that all the school should not be closed completely, and there should be option of micro level lockdown.
World human rights organisations has also suggested to open the schools to avoid the losses of students and peoples who are affiliated with the education department.
Four days ago online conference was held under the Shafqat Mahmood in which it was discussed due to Covid-19 second wave all the educational institutes should be closed from November 26 to January 10 and all the examinations should be postponed.
