Islamabad: On Thursday 28^th February 2019 Allama Iqbal Open University Held the first International Conference on Ilm al Qira’aat. the conference is a 2 days event. The conference aims to highlight the importance of Quranic verses and its recitation in the life of human beings

The Qira'at Conference is the first international event of the kind held in Pakistan. Dr. Qibla Ayaz the chairman of the council of Islamic Ideology inaugurated the event as the chief guest. The conference hosted Islamic scholars from all around the world. The event is organized by the faculty of Arabic and Islamic studies.  The theme of the conference is the historical discourses and contemporary researches on Ilm ul Qira’at. Dr. Qari Ahmed Mian Thanvi of Jamia Darul Uloom Islamia, Lahore and Dr. Fatah-ur-Rehman Qurashi of International Islamic University addressed the attendees of the first day of the conference.

The Vice-Chancellor AIOU Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Qayyum showed pride on the university to host such event for the first time in Pakistan.
