AIOU announces free education for the students of Matric

Allama Iqbal International University has announced the provision of free education to the students belonging to Balochistan and Federally Administered Tribal Areas from this month as the new semester is going to begin.

The candidates looking for free education can contact their regional AIOU office as the admissions have already begun. In the history of AIOU, it is the first time that the university is offering free education to the students belonging to less privileged areas.

The decision is an effort to provide education to the students of less developed areas and the university has put aside its financial gains for the sake of the students of Balochistan and FATA, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shahid Siddiqui said.

This is not the first step by the university to assist the needy people as it is already providing free education to disabled persons, prisoners, drop-out girls and transgender group. The university had already waived off tuition fee for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the tribal areas as they were displaced because of army operation in those areas.
