Sichuan Normal University (SNU) and University of Karachi (KU) have signed a joint agreement between them for launching a joint split degree Bachelor program. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed between both the universities of China and Pakistan respectively under the platform of Center of Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC). Bachelor degree will be offered in Chinese International Education.
MOU was signed between acting VC of KU, Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute University of Karachi (CIUK), Professor Zhang Xipong and Chief Executive of CLEC, Professor Dr Ma Jianfei. The meeting was held within the campus of KU. According to MOU, students will study at CIUK for first two years and then become eligible for studying remaining two years at SNU.
VC of KU said that plans were made in last year, whereas, its execution was due this year which had to be implemented now. Furthermore, faculty exchange programs between two universities is also a work in progress which shall be activated in the coming year’s academic session.
