Numerous West Indies players have chosen PSL over their national team except for Chris Gyle who was not picked up by any of the PSL franchises.
The team has been in great performance crisis and ranked at no 8, not making into next Cricket World Cup.
The team will have to play qualifying round if they want to play the next World Cup and many of big names of West Indies Cricket will be absent from the scene. The qualifying matches will take place between March 4 and March 25 but the players will not be available due to their commitment with the PSL.
The players who will miss the qualifying round are Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Darren Bravo. The Windies players are not in good terms with management of their cricket board due to lack of funds and payment.
The third edition of PSL will take place from February to March 25th and a new team Multan Sultans will has been added to the franchise making it the tournament of six teams.
