BISE Abbottabad board was founded as a result of the break-up of Peshawar Board in 1990 under the North West Frontier Province Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act 1990. It is regulating in its own installation on Murree Road , Abbottabad. Due to amplify in work pressure on matric segment, the exam conduction office has been divided into two different sections. Conduct division 1 to regulate the matric phase and conduct division 2 to deal with the intermediate level. A printing office has also been formulated for printing of question papers.

BISE Abbottabad board usually perform the examination procedure for both matric and Intermediate level in preliminary half of the year and then the result is declared after that. BISE Abbottabad board is an only organizing body in Abbottabad to supervise and operate all the academic trainings comprising both the curricular activities and extracurricular activities in academies and colleges. It is also the supervisor of administering all the exam corresponding events of intermediate and matric level. It can rewrite and alter the earlier exam conducting methods, survey and modify the syllabus and reflecting standards and circulate the modern edition of all the protocols and elements. Beside that employing personnel to organize exams at both shifts morning and evening shifts, appointing numerous government and private institute and performing papers in several exam centers at the exact time, providing guarantee to perform the exam without any inaccurate procedures and prohibit cheating or any other relevant methods to make it credible and apparent for all. Students are scattered according to their area to the immediate institute for the papers for their convenience. Question papers are being designed for two different shifts morning and evening and they require to be different to ensure the parity and resist any kind of corruption, question paper leaking, dodge and mismanagement. The subject group being chosen at inter level always accompany students at higher level of education if they are maintained satisfactorily. The subject groups delivered in intermediate are distributed which are as follow
Intermediate in Science (F.Sc.) Pre-Medical. Pre-Engineering.
Intermediate in General Science. ICS(Physics) ICS (Statistics) ICS (Economics).
Intermediate in Commerce. I.Com.
Intermediate in Arts F.A (Humanities).
Intermediate in Fine Arts of FA is two year study program that is offered after successful completion of matriculation. It is mainly planned for the students enthusiastic in home economics, arts and crafts and different languages. The students should select their contents wisely according to their curiosities and their established goals for future. All these areas have huge aptitude for expansion and achievement for the students. BISE Abbottabad Board compose the date sheets for FA exams every year on the defined time period of the year. The date sheet is published with some critical transitions annually. The exams for inter part 1 and 2 are executed simultaneously for all the groups. Exams are kept in two shifts, morning shift, and evening shift. Varied question papers are assembled for both the shifts. BISE Abbottabad Board values and cares for the privacy and secrecy of the exams thus formulating the FA examination scheme obvious.
